FY2009 G.R.E.A.T. Grant Application Period Now Open
The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is pleased to announce the opening of the FY2009 G.R.E.A.T. Program solicitation. The solicitation opened on November 24, 2008, and will close on January 22, 2009, at 8:00 p.m. E.T.
All G.R.E.A.T. applications must be submitted to BJA via Grants.gov at http://www.grants.gov. If your jurisdiction or agency is not currently registered with Grants.gov, please begin the Grants.gov registration process immediately, as the process can take several weeks to complete.

In 2007 and 2008, BJA administered more than $22.2 million to support a wide range of G.R.E.A.T. activities that were part of 249 G.R.E.A.T. projects nationwide. SISD Gang Prevention reaches out to students
Helping students make positive choices and develop life-long skills is the goal of the Socorro Independent School District Police Services program. Through the Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) program, SISD police officers are working alongside parents, teachers, counselors and principals to show students the impact and consequences of negative behaviors.
