FY2009 G.R.E.A.T. Grant Application Period Now Open

The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is pleased to announce the opening of the FY2009 G.R.E.A.T. Program solicitation. The solicitation opened on November 24, 2008, and will close on January 22, 2009, at 8:00 p.m. E.T.

All G.R.E.A.T. applications must be submitted to BJA via Grants.gov at http://www.grants.gov. If your jurisdiction or agency is not currently registered with Grants.gov, please begin the Grants.gov registration process immediately, as the process can take several weeks to complete.

Application Guidelines are available at http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/BJA/grant/09GREATsol.pdf. General information regarding the G.R.E.A.T. Program is available at http://www.great-online.org.

In 2007 and 2008, BJA administered more than $22.2 million to support a wide range of G.R.E.A.T. activities that were part of 249 G.R.E.A.T. projects nationwide. We encourage you to apply for this vital funding for your jurisdiction in FY2009. For questions regarding the solicitation or application process, do not hesitate to call the BJA G.R.E.A.T.
